“Leaving The Pantheon” draws loose inspiration from Alejandro Jodorowsky’s film The Holy Mountain. LET IT RAIN, a new band featuring members of one of our beloved Polish emo punks JAYWALKER, interprets the film’s narrative metaphorically, focusing on personal growth, learning from mistakes, and accepting the duality of life’s good and bad moments.
“Our lyrics explore overcoming weaknesses and traumas, and freeing ourselves from them. It’s a journey everyone undergoes,” Marcin explained. The motif of the mountain also pays homage to Norwegian philosopher Arne Naess, emphasizing the need for balance with nature and leading a simple, honest life. The title itself references a pivotal scene in the film where the protagonists refuse to succumb to earthly distractions and continue their ascent towards enlightenment.
“Leaving The Pantheon signifies our break from modern-day idols—extreme consumerism and egoism,” Przemek added.
Marcin (vocals), Przemek (bass), and Witek (guitars) caught up with us to give you the full stream of their debut track and shae their top records of the year, with special commentayr below!
The track features drums arranged and performed by Przemysław Głowacki and has been mixed and mastered by Haldor Grunberg. The accompanying lyrics video, crafted by DGN.DSGN, complements the themes.
This year, the band completed the material for their EP, comprising five finished tracks. However, only one has been recorded thus far due to the absence of a permanent drummer. “If you’re reading this, play drums, and feel a connection with us, please reach out,” Witek urged. Despite this setback, the band expressed satisfaction in releasing “Leaving The Pantheon” and looks forward to future projects.
Looking ahead to 2025, the band aims to record the EP and perform several shows. They acknowledge the challenges of balancing work and family commitments but view this project as a way to momentarily escape daily concerns. “We hope that releasing this single will energize us to continue moving forward,” Marcin stated.

The Shape – Amusement Mile
Marcin: A new project by Kevin Iavaroni from the regrettable Old Wounds, which is definitely worth checking out. Dark metalcore has gone out of the window in favor of an incredibly melodic new wave/synthpop, which turned out exceptionally well for him. A prominent post-punk bass, guitars reminiscent of the ’80s, melting synthesizers, and the timbre of Kevin’s voice create material that immediately caught my ear.
One Step Closer – All You Embrace
Marcin: An album I was eagerly waiting for after hearing the first singles. And I was not disappointed. OSC is not standing still, systematically developing their established formula of melodic hardcore, adding to it an even greater dose of emotion, and on the other hand, pop-punk catchiness. “All You Embrace” has everything I like – catchy choruses, dynamics, intertwining vocals, nostalgia. And that trumpet!
Holy Blade – s/t
Marcin: Members of, among others, such groups as God’s Hate, Twitching Tongues, and Forced Order decided to create a project that will be a tribute to AFI from their most goth punk era from the late ’90s. As a superfan of A Fire Inside, I couldn’t be happier! Brilliant riffs, accurately conveying a vampiric atmosphere, extended choruses, vocal harmonies – everything is in its place. Importantly, it is not a brazen copy, as the guys add their unique element to the whole.
Temple Guard – Morbid Sacrament
Marcin: From the ruins of the already cult xRepentancex, Temple Guard was created, which continues to carry the message of animal liberation and curses the destructive power of human arrogance. Massive, crushing sound recalls the best years of vegan metalcore with Day of Suffering at the forefront. Everything, from the lyrics to the visual part, is built on the motif of an apocalyptic crusade, which further emphasizes the brutality of the whole and creates an intriguing atmosphere.
Stand Still – Steps Ascending
Marcin: Lately has been really good for fans of melodic playing, which come from hardcore guys. The latest album from the New Yorkers practically grabs from the first second and does not let go until the very end. They sound very fresh, and at the same time have something from the ’90s. The vocals slightly remind me of Toby from H2O, which is definitely a plus. Great compositions, something is happening all the time, the drums are clever, there are no weak moments. Choruses firmly stick in memory, practically in every track. Definitely top 3 of the year.
Touche Amore – Spiral In A Straight Line
Witek: It took us 4 years to wait for a new album. I have been following their activities for a long time and was very curious in which direction it would go this time. There are no big surprises, Ross Robinson took over production again and sonically it is for me a continuation of Lament. I love these delicate Fender guitars passed through some analog reverbs, choruses, and flangers. I also like the return to more twisted and instrumentally more demanding compositions as in Is Survived By. My favorite is Subversion (Brand New Love).
High Vis – Guided Tour
Witek: This band was presented to me as a mixture of Oasis and street punk. A hardcore band that plays beautiful music. And on top of that a large accumulation of emotions, lyrics that are mega moving. Hard to pass by indifferent to this. Probably the last impression I had was with Turnstile’s album “Glow On”. I regret that I did not manage to be at their gig in Warsaw.
Daysdaysdays – By Nie Myśleć Przez Chwilę
Witek: A band that has always been associated with Shades Apart from Revelation Records for me. Does anyone else remember that album with the spider on the cover from 1997? I could listen to it for weeks. Here we have seemingly simple playing on one guitar, but these melodies just walk with you all day. Vocals are first class. The vocalist additionally plays the drums, wow. Favorite track: Nie No i Cóż.

Witek: The Polish answer to American Football? Cool.
Malte Marten – Healing Frequencies
Przemek: An album from another story, but after all, a person does not live on hardcore alone.
Healing Frequencies is a unique combination of subtle emotions, experimental sounds, and deep atmosphere. Minimalist compositions dominate, which are based on ambient textures, delicate melodies, and introspective narration.
The album does not lack organic sounds. Many tracks include field recordings, which in combination with handpan create an intimate and spacious atmosphere.
The tracks are full of pauses and delicate transitions, which give them a meditative character. Perfect music for reflection and relaxation.
