From Belgium hails an awesome post-rock band called ILYDAEN. Heroism and ubiquity are concepts floating on the post-rock style, slightly affected by a dose of post-hardcore. The band takes the listener far away into an alternate dimension, where emotions converge to achieve the ultimate symbolic – which is the otherworldliness.
After their debut EP titled “Exordium”, last year saw the release of the band’s first LP entitled “Digressions”. The band has also achieved its first European tour in July 2012, performing a dozen of gigs in a row.
The band has just released the official music video for their song “Tormented Stones”. Scroll down to check it out! Also, go here to read my November, 2012 interview with the band.

The band answer a few questions to give you a better idea of this outing:
What’s the highlight of the album for you? It can be a riff, a funny situation while recording, whatever that comes to your mind when you hear “Digressions” [smiles].
The highlight for us is “Lifeline”, the 5th song of the record. We’re still wondering how we made it, but we should go on like that: play things randomly and find our path through tones we’re transported to … Besides that, this LP has been made while watching some music documentaries, to lift up to an introspective state of mind. So guys, go check “The story of Anvil” if you don’t know it yet.
How are you feelings about that record at the moment?
We’re proud while reflective ; we want to use this record as the start point to elaborate our future piece. We’re still a small band, and we expect to promote “Digressions” a bit more before making any conclusion. And we definitely got to sell some more [smiles].
Where do you get aesthetic inspirations from?
Daily life is the major part of the influence. Any change in the music, or rhythmic switch respects patterns we encounter while living. It’s how we work, a kind of test/error method.
Do you already know how things will be different with another album?
We will definitely try to be more varied in our compositions, we’d like to add some piano tones, some vocals, always in a superficial way. We still don’t know how we will sustain our processes, while adding new musical horizons, but we will.
