From QUEENSRYCHE To PITY SEX: what JIVEBOMB are spinning on the road

With Ethereal out now via Flatspot Records and shows lined up across both the U.S. and U.K., JIVEBOMB are dragging the whole ocean with them. The band’s debut full-length blends grind, hardcore, and total sonic mayhem, clocking in at just 13 minutes—but there’s nothing fleeting about the impact.

On stage they rip, offstage they dig. Below is an exclusive look into what’s fueling the band’s collective mood right now. Whether it’s obscure deathgrind, NYHC staples, or jazz heartbreakers, this playlist tells you exactly where each member’s head is at—especially while staring out the van window or flipping through riffs in their heads.

Catch them live at the following dates and see their playlist below.

David:

Queensryche – Jet City Woman

I think it speaks for itself. It kicks ass try it out.

Total Chaos – Initial Distrust

The song I was listening to when I wrote the one song that I wrote” (something to figure out).

Harper:

Obituary – In the End Of Life

Influenced guitar tone and overall mean spirited vibe

Integrity – Incarnate 365

I like the samples in the song/influenced guitar soloing over top of verses/parts w vocals

Kat:

Billie Holiday – Gloomy Sunday

This song is so heavy and gut-wrenching to me, I’d say its a song about loss. Losing someone dear to you. It inspired me to write Seraphim (Marina’s Song) but instead being about losing yourself, as a means of necessity to grow.

HIRS – Little White Dress

I love the sample and vocals in this one. HIRS does a great job mixing samples and harsh noise in a way that sounds dark, I especially revisit their split with Water Torture.

Ethan:

Internal Bleeding – Six Shots in Dallas

Overall the record (ethereal) got heavier and thats a song ive been into throughout the writing the process

The Ramones – Warthog

One of my favorite punk songs ever and the vocals get me stoked the same way Kats vocals do

Nick:

Slitthroats – Incinerated

This is perfect death/grind song, no influence on the record necessarily but a favorite nonetheless

Pity Sex – Glue

Something I revisit a lot when I dont want to listen to heavy music. They dont have a single bad release
