Gainesville’s The Fest is cancelled; German punk rock label Funk Turry Funk celebrates its glory with special compilation

1 min read

The multi-day punk rock festival The Fest in Gainesville, Florida is cancelled. For this reason, the German punk rock label Funk Turry Funk is celebrating its annual get-together with a few big names such as Typesetter, Days N Daze, Andrew Paley, Mikey Erg and Billy Liar in a digital way. The 22 previously unreleased and exclusive covers come from bands that were booked for this year’s The Fest and contain primarily acoustic versions of other The Fest acts such as Hot Water Music, Strike Anywhere and The Flatliners.

The sampler will be released this Friday on all streaming platforms and can be pre-ordered here.

Listen to two covers in advance: Andrew Paley covers Beach Slang, Wolves&Wolves&Wolves&Wolves cover Hot Water Music.

If you don’t know the original songs yet, you can do so via the Spotify playlist of Say-10 Records:
