New Jersey hardcore outfit SILENCE EQUALS DEATH has just issued their first official video from their Eulogy Records-released debut album, End Times, with the album opening “Peacemaker,” which makes its public entrance through a premiere at No Echo mag. You can watch it below. SILENCE EQUALS DEATH is also one of sixteen acts featured on the newly-released Just For Us Hardcore Kids compilation released last week through newly-founded Tripsquad Records. Hear the band’s track “Ghost” HERE. The band also released another new track, “No More Ashes,” the track appearing on the covermount CD for issue #282 of Terrorizer Magazine, and streaming below.
Filmed and directed by Mark Coffman of Indy By Nature Productions, SILENCE EQUALS DEATHoffers of their new video,
“‘Peacemaker’ is a protest song fueled by the frustration of the downtrodden around the world who are slowly but surely getting fed up with being beaten down thus taking matters into their own hands.”
Alongside an interview with the band, No Echo provides,
“Citing such influences as Most Precious Blood, Terror, and Strife, SILENCE EQUALS DEATH is a New Jersey-based hardcore band that recently released its debut album, End Times. Issued on longrunning label Eulogy Recordings (Wisdom In Chains, Morning Again), the record strikes a healthy balance of chugging riffs and hook-filled vocal lines.”
Lyrics:
we choose a side
maintaining that we won’t ever accept defeat
I feel complete because I know we’re alive
unbroken stride and now we won’t back down
another round that I know will surly go my way
they’ll be no peace today
no peace for the ones who will block my way
i won’t back down or be betrayed
we hold on to our strength
we hold on and fight our way
Incite the fear or riot, you won’t leave here alive
we’re listening we’re listening we’re listening to the lies you say
no justice and no peace no sense in listening
you’ve had your say and we’ll have our day
no justice no peace no justice
no justice no peace without justice there’s no peace
