Hungarian post hardcore act SHELL BEACH premiere new video “Run Out The Sun”

2 mins read

We are thrilled to give you the exclusive premiere of the new music video for “Run Out The Sun” from SHELL BEACH, an adventurous post hardcore band that beautifully balances the need for emotional, almost ambient moments and powerful, yet technical heaviness. The song comes from the band’s latest EP, “Changes x Restless x Faithless”, which was released earlier this year via Redfield Digital, a Redfield Records imprint, and the band took it to Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central Europe, to shoot this great video. Watch below and scroll down to listen to the full record, which flows really well, but is also paced amazingly by alternating faster and slower parts with a style. Check it out and leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Vocalist Zoli Totik commented:

“There is an awesome lookout tower with an amazing globe structure overlooking the lake from hills above the shore. It was an especially cold day when we headed down with the crew and our fingers and asses were pretty much frozen up after the first 30 minutes of shooting in the morning. Nevertheless we kept on till late in the night as the vibe we got off the whole scene was truly special and inspiring.

There was something about the globe too: like, we killed a drone as we had an exterior shot planned as well, but 10 seconds after it first flew up in the air, it crashed straight back to the ground because of extra heavy interference and becoming unresponsive. Even more eerie!”

Lyrics:

Hey, I thought I heard a whisper
When I was driving by
You had me going there for a second
Yet there’s no one around

Don’t ever run out the sun

Back around, where we were before
Now it’s suffering with you
You said that you know, those things that you say you do
It, you do
Down by it

You’re caught between the second lie, it’s true
Why would you call again?
You’re ready? To save me? From who?
That makes you one in ten

Don’t ever run out the sun

Back around, where we were before
Now it’s suffering with you
You said that you know, those things that you say you do
It, you do
Down by it

Never asked you what to say
Resolve
Run out the sun

Run out the sun

Back around, where we were before
Now it’s suffering with you
You said that you know, those things that you say you do
It, you do

More about the band:

Shell Beach, who formed in 2007 in Budapest, enjoyed a productive year, including the release of their current EP after two previous full-length records “This Is Desolation” and “Acronycal” and the first video from the latest EP for the track “Eclipse”. Definitely one for fans of powerful post-hardcore with influences like Glassjaw, Deftones or Refused but honed to ShellBeach‘s own unique sound.

After their first full-length record, touring helped mature the band’s sound and “This Is Desolation”, the band’s second album, was released in 2012. The 11-song record featured Matt Geise of LowerDefinition (Ferret) / DanceGavinDance (Rise Records) and Zeek as special guest vocalists in two of the songs. The record helped Shell Beach get further established as the most prominent band of the Hungarian and Budapest post-hardcore scenes.

The band embarked on a european tour and also played the belgian GROEZROCK festival after being voted into the selection online by fans. After getting their batteries charged by supporting ENTERSHIKARI on their EURO TOUR in 2014 the band recruited back to the rehearsal space to start work on new songs. “Changes x Restless x Faithless” a 5 track EP is the band’s latest offering and encompasses a brand new phase for ShellBeach coming out with an ever more bold and mature sound.
