Melancholic, soulful, sometimes angry: Gab De La Vega was a punk rock guitarist at first, until he grabbed his acoustic guitar to give his songs his very personal, thoughtful touch. Whether solo or in a band, he has played his way into the hearts of all of Europe, performing shows not only in Italy but especially in Germany for artists like Frank Turner or Against Me! After releasing his album Beyond Space And Time in spring 2020 despite the Corona pandemic, including the singles “Perfect Texture” and “YYZ”, his next single “I Still Believe” will be released on September 4th.
“Against all expectations, the song is perfect for this time,” says Vega, who has been on the road as a solo artist and owner of the indie label Epidemic Records since 2011. “It should give courage for better times”. The fact that the music video for “I Still Believe” was shot in his hometown of Brescia – a city that was hit particularly hard by the Corona pandemic and where many people seemed to have lost their courage for the time being – also fits in with this.
But a single release is not the only thing that Gab De La Vega is doing right now. He is one of those people who, during this difficult time, are looking for ways to play concerts for music lovers without endangering themselves or others through infection. He has already played a few solo concerts in Italy and three of them are still to come.
