YOUNGEST channels TURNSTILE vibes, blend hardcore with pop in new song and video “Static Feel”

1 min read

“Static Feel” is the new single from Italian band Youngest, out officially on May 2nd, with an exclusive video premiere right here on IDIOTEQ!

The track marks a shift in direction that started with a lineup change in 2023: “In 2023 we changed our lineup — Noah, who used to be on drums, moved to vocals, and Kappa, who was our original drummer, came back behind the kit. Since then, our sound shifted a bit more towards hardcore punk and pop punk, taking inspiration from bands like Turnstile and No Pressure.”

Youngest’s sound on “Static Feel” is lean and urgent—punchy hardcore punk threaded with pop punk’s melodic momentum. “Static Feel is a pointless chase, the same game that goes nowhere. Nights repeat, desires fade,” the band says. The song channels that feeling into something fast, loud, and without compromise. “No pauses, no breaks, just another round in the same loop. It’s relentless and raw, a reflection of what never changes.”

The music video was made fully DIY. “We shot the video totally DIY, with the direction handled by Ocular Lab — that’s the Visual Design studio founded by me (Ivan), Luca, and Federico (we’re all in the band), together with Nicola Brignoli, a director/photographer we’ve been working with forever.”
