Idaho punk rockers SKiTTiSH iTZ streaming new record

1 min read

Boise, Idaho natives SKiTTiSH iTZ have released their new album, a perfect new melodic punk rock treat for fans of LAGWAGON and MILLENCOLIN. The band has been around for a decade and this is the final album by them, entitled “Back To Reality”, released on July 22nd via Hidden Home Records. Launch this successfully crafted, enjoyable record below and tell us what you think in the comments below.

This band is a breath of fresh air in a music scene that’s inundated with elitism and negativity. There is never a dull moment and rarely a serious lyric in the spirit of The Aquabats or the Vandals. SKiTTiSH iTZ has been bringing good vibes and good times for ten years, and while they may be leaving us, they are going down laughing. – The Alternative magazine

SKiTTiSH iTZ is one of Idaho’s longest running and most beloved punk bands, but all good things must end, and with that we give you “BACK TO REALiTY”, the band’s last full length album. Starting in Twin Falls, ID in the year 2006, and relocating to Boise a short time after, the band has since been a breath of fresh air in a music scene that’s inundated with elitism and negativity.
Never a dull moment and rarely a serious lyric, SKiTTiSH iTZ have been pulling at the legs of their peers, as well as their listeners, for almost a decade. They self-identify as “cake punk” a term that makes sense considering their light-hearted attitude toward dissenters, punk rock politics, and the world around them – at least for the twenty five minutes or so they take the stage. While acknowledging real life problems (such as the crumbling of a friendship in “FiSHBOWL” or, even the break up of your band in “THE iNEViTABLE PAUSE”), the band has never let things get too serious. “KEEP YOUR CASTLE” is an ode to a love-jaded Super Mario who finally gives up on running after Peach, while “HUNGRY, HUNGRY HIPSTERS” is a lo-fi short jam dedicated to fedora clad, flannel wearing, beard growing vape daddies (and mommies… minus the beards).
With a sound reminiscent of Lagwagon or Millencolin, but the spirit of The Aquabats or the Vandals, SKiTTiSH iTZ has been bringing good vibes and good times for ten years, and while they may be leaving us, they’re not going out without a bang. Get BACK TO REALiTY from Hidden Home Records on July 22nd, 2016.
