The unclassifiable, multi-faceted quartet CARMEN SEA finally comes out of the shadows with a first single from their EP HISS! “Black Echoes” is by far the most striking track of this opus, and today we’re stoked to give you the first official hearing below!
The track brings in 2 minutes and 44 seconds of incendiary tumult. With a combination of lumbering groove and sinuous riff, always overhung by the stridency of the violin, this piece offers itself a final all in heaviness and industrial rage. A perfect opportunity to allow a rare vocal incursion, by letting a tortured yelling resound.
The band admits that “Black Echoes” represents Carmen Sea’s rawest inspirations: metal, electro and industrial music. “Following a simple structure, based on rises and explosions, tensions and releases, it is the manifesto of a spirit that is often found in our writing style.” – they say. “I.e to form a concentrate of the individual influences of each one, which, once put together, boil over and finally explode into a coherent and effective material.”
