There’s a current running through Lake Michigan that seems to carry an endless supply of emo creativity. Wisconsin’s scene has been a testament to that in 2024, with releases from bands like Excuse Me Who Are You?, Bug Moment, Endswell, and Garden Home. Yet, the region’s music landscape is now stepping into new territory with the emergence of All Done Bye Bye – a supergroup drawing from the ranks of these beloved projects.

All Done Bye Bye brings together the talents of Kyle Kinney (Excuse Me Who Are You?), Jasmine Rosenblatt (Bug Moment), Dylan Mazurkiewicz (Garden Home), Alan Morris (Endswell), and Brady Laflen (Thumbs Up Records).

This convergence of voices and skills marks a shift from their established sounds, offering a mix where atmospheric shoegaze collides with post-hardcore. Here, Rosenblatt’s ethereal vocals intertwine with Mazurkiewicz’s raw screams, creating tension and release within expansive, textured arrangements.

The band has maintained an understated presence since its formation announcement, but anticipation is about to be rewarded. Today, All Done Bye Bye debut their single “You Won!”. The song, birthed from a collaborative spark between Jasmine and Kyle, took shape remotely before evolving with contributions from Alan, Dylan, and Brady.

“You Won!” channels themes of pain and unresolved conflict, conveyed through a powerful call-and-response between Jasmine and Kyle.

The intensity of “You Won!” builds on a familiar, painful narrative where dialogue loops into itself, marked by angst and yearning.

The final chorus crescendos with Dylan’s piercing screams layered over melodic lines, encapsulating frustration and a cycle of unresolved tension.

The lyrics drive this home (see the full lyrics below).

The artwork channels raw chaos, echoing the themes of “You Won!” With jagged, almost violent brushstrokes in crimson, pink, and black, it creates an unsettling tension. The human figure appears to wrestle with inner turmoil and fractured identity—a visual counterpart to the song’s narrative of pain and conflict.

Hollow eyes and an open mouth caught mid-scream recall the song’s peaks of frustration and longing. The torn corner, collage-like and imperfect nails the theme of broken communication and emotional scars.

“You Won!” lyrics:

verse 1:

does it make you happy seeing me in pain?
all you want to do is spread your hate

chorus:

you will say
keep waiting
i found the way you stay
any day now
fool me one way
too weak for when you leave

i lost you
(i lost you)
you won
(you won)
and every lasting
pain in my side
but there’s another
(there’s another) enough
face familiar
(face familiar) fam
reminding me of the song you sung me

verse2:

when you held me
eyes can’t take it
it’s all i know
it’s all i know
palms still sweaty
eyes down
now let me go
let you go

chorus:
you will say
keep waiting
i found the way you stay
any day now
fool me one way
too weak for when you leave
i lost you
(i lost you)
you won
(you won)
and every lasting
pain in my side
but there’s another
(there’s another
face familiar
(face familiar)
reminding me of the song you sung me
