Formed in 2016 from the ashes of Adelaide hardcore band TO KILL OR CAPTURE, new Aussie hardcore band VICIOUS JUDGEMENT have recently released their debut EP on 10-54 Records. This pack doesn’t seem to be out to re-invent the wheel, but definitely keeps the good spirit alive. Though you can hear some obvious TERROR-alike influences pretty strongly here, these tracks are solid and are a good representation of the genre. VICIOUSJUDGMENTS‘s self titled EP brings honest and strong lyrical content backed with a driving rhythm and intense guitar riffs! The debut 5 track release touches lyrically on societal and personal issues that the listener is be able to relate to as it’s the constant battle we all fight!

Hey guys! Congratulations on your debut EP! How does it feel to finally be able to unleash it? When can we expect it?
Thanks! We got the CD our just before November. So far we have had some amazing feedback.
What was the catalyst for your interest in heavier styles of hardcore?
What is on this cd is a mix of what we all love. There’s some punk, there’s some straight up hardcore and there’s a little metal.
What were your main influences for the lyrical part of the record?
Everything from suicidal thoughts to old friends who become cunts. Even a little fuck you to the government!
Tell us more about the 1054 label. How did you team up and what other distributions have you arranged to increase the reach of this beast?
1054 heard out stuff and got us on the label straight away. Since then we have been able to send the cd world wide and have been getting some great reviews. I believe core-tex in Europe is distributing it also.
You recently played your debut show. How was it?
We had a blast. SWORN ENEMY were so fucking cool and it’s always good to catch up with CROWNED KINGS. It was a Wednesday night so the crowd wasn’t massive but was still a lot of fun.
Tell us more about your typical local hardcore show. How is your local punk scene doing at the moment?
It’s very much divided. It’s not what you know it’s who you know. We would love to get out of Adelaide and hit up the east coast of Aus!
How did you became part of it in the first place? Can you tell us more about your previous bands and the path that led you to forming VICIOUS JUDGEMENT?
We have always been in heavy music I played drums for a punk band called DEAD JOE, Sam played guitar for ON THE DAY OF MY DISASTER, and Tom and Dan came from ALL THAT I’M ASKING. Tom, myself and sam were in a hardcore band called to KILL OR CAPTURE and that’s how we met the lads in CK and 1054.
Do you travel nationally to pursue more shows?
We sure will be haha
