Hailing from Reading, UK, KULAN GATH is by no means a reinvention for the filthy metallic hardcore, but I wouldn’t want it to be. In refusing to fix what ain’t broke, KULAN GATH stands as a vicious new band on the map that defiantly waves the flag for raw and gritty heavy hardcore.
The band just dropped their new song “Blood Of The Serpent”, the first taste of their upcoming debut EP, to be released later this Summer via Bandcamp and Spotify.
“Blood of the Serpent is a deeply personal and cathartic song for me.” – comments vocalist Kurt Jones.
“During a low point of my life I attempted suicide. Fortunately rationality prevailed and I sought help, going through a recovery program.”
“Writing and recording this song was a way of acknowledging and releasing the anger/hate I felt towards myself for my actions and what I put my family through (whether right or wrong, these feelings persisted).” – he continues.
“Blood of the Serpent is the final step in leaving this chapter of my life behind and moving forward as a stronger/ healthier person.”
Lyrics:
Prostrate yourself upon the altar
Sacrifice the wretched one
Face the wrath of writhing serpents
Bathe yourself in pitiful cries
Blood
Blood
Blood
Blood
Accuser
Denier
Betrayer
Martyr
To the slaughter come
Indulge yourself the deepest sin
Take your life before your kin
Indulge yourself the deepest sin
Take your life before your kin
Darkness swims before your eyes
Welcoming this sweet demise
Those you love will drown in your
Blood
Blood
Blood
Blood
Accuser
Denier
Betrayer
Martyr
“You wanted to be free of a fragile life.
Never a thought of those who cared.
You are selfish and pathetic
Now live with the pain you never shared”
Prostrate yourself upon the altar
Sacrifice the wretched one
Face the wrath of writhing serpents
Bathe yourself in pitiful cries
Place yourself upon the altar
Sacrifice the wanton one
Face the wrath of writhing serpents
Bathe yourself in innocent fucking blood
