In their latest single, Plant Food, Milanese punk band Yngst push past the typical punk aesthetic, offering a raw portrayal of personal growth through struggle. The track, recorded, mixed, and mastered at Pan Music Production in Turin, Italy, captures the intensity of human resilience through gritty guitars and an unrelenting rhythm, weaving together alt-rock with traces of post-hardcore.
The song’s core message revolves around a confrontation—one person telling the other they gain strength the way a plant does when nourished, through adversity.
On the video, the band commented: “The video is meant to be a celebration of all those more intimate moments the band has experienced over the past year and a half. From the moment the band changed formation with Federico rejoining on drums, to the recordings at Fabrizio’s Pan Music studio, to the two-day Oltrerock festival hosted by Federico Achilli in Oltrepò Pavese.”
