Leita’s debut album Alle Porte del Regno Animale is out in 2 days, but we’re happy to give you a special early listen today! The Italian emo/math-rock band, formed in 2020, channels intricate instrumentation and introspective themes into a record that bridges melody with precision. Set for release on March 7 via Spleencore Records and Kosmica Dischi, the album builds on the foundation laid by their 2022 EP Per Sempre, Comunque, which positioned them within Italy’s DIY emo/screamo scene.
These organic, almost supernatural sounds pair effortlessly with the Italian language—it’s something we’ve known for a long time. In the European approach to this style, with various blends of math rock, post-hardcore, and midwest emo, both Italian and Scandinavian interpretations have always carried something distinct. It’s a sound that hits me straight in the heart, and I have a feeling this album should catch your attention too.
The album has been recorded by Edoardo Pellizzari (Talk To Her) and mastered by Federico Ceretta (Amalia Bloom). Two singles preceded its release—”Equatoriale”, unveiled on January 3, and “La Timidezza Di Une Quercia”, which followed on February 7—each showcasing Leita’s approach to balancing math-rock technicality with melodic sensitivity.
With the full record now available, the band’s focus shifts to the complete narrative and sonic arc they’ve crafted.
Leita’s sound carries clear influences from Delta Sleep and TTNG but remains distinctly their own, largely due to the presence of Italian-language vocals. The interplay between the intricate guitar work of Alessandro Beghetto and Enrico Gazzetto, Marco Ambrosini’s dynamic drumming (also integrating saxophone elements), and Jacopo Basso’s layered bass and synth contributions creates a depth that feels equally deliberate and instinctive.

Lyrically, Alle Porte del Regno Animale explores existential uncertainty, introspection, and the tension between human nature and the surrounding world. The title itself suggests an observation of instinct, survival, and emotion—standing at the boundary between rational thought and something more primal.
Physically, the album will see a vinyl release via Kosmica Dischi, with a cassette version handled by Spleencore Records.
