CLOAKROOM are sharing “Starchild Skull,” the first single from the band’s sophomore LP “Further Out”!
Set for release January 20th on Run For Cover Records, the Northwestern Indiana based trio continue to expand their sound with stunning elements of muscular shoegaze and midwestern post-hardcore. Following the band’s “Lossed Over b/w Dream Warden” 7″ single that had Cloakroom teaming up with Hum’s Matt Talbott, “Starchild Skull” offers another dynamic look at the band’s nuanced space sludge riffs and enormous rhythmic pummel. Vice described “Starchild Skull” stating the song “taps into the sound of slowcore greats like Codeine and Low, while simultaneously incorporating Cloakroom’s own ambient, Midwestern drawl”. Cloakroom had a busy year touring with Whirr, Nothing, and Basement, as well as recording Further Out, the band’s upcoming full length record at Earth Analog Studios with Matt Talbott (Hum/Centaur) set for release on January 20, 2015. Cloakroom and Talbott recorded the album 100% analog, from recording to mixing to mastering to creating the vinyl parts. UPCOMING SHOWS:
