On their harsh debut EP, PUS’ searing, eerie vocals-driven dark punk screams its way to notoriety. Its nihilistic glamour pairs up with the band’s mysterious entourage and unidentified personas, and showcases a new band with a new spirit, great energy, and a interesting new approach.
“We formed PUS in the beginning of 2020 and had been working these songs during the pandemic and lockdown here in Lima.” -says the band’s vocalist “Parasito”.
“We come from a punk and metal background and have played in a number of local bands. Not only have we worked on the music but also on the visual aspect of the band during lockdown. After lockdown was lifted, we got together for maybe 2 or 3 rehearsals and we recorded it, part ourselves and part at a local studio.”
The EP was mixed by Will Killingsworth in Dead Air Studios in the USA.
As fas as their inspiration, PUS are big fans of the underground hardcore and “rock subterraneo scene” of the 80s and also some extreme metal bands. “WeΒ΄ve tried to mix those sounds together.” comments “Parasito”. “We still want to sound more dark and aggressive”
