Lion City Hardcore: MYSTIQUE share debut demo

1 min read

The hardcore scene in Lion City gets a powerful jolt with the formation of Mystique, a new band featuring members from well-regarded local acts such as Fuse, Losing End, Wreckonize, Fuel, and The Bois. Channelling the raw intensity of New York Hardcore (NYHC), Mystique has unveiled their high-octane two-song demo, including tracks “Masquerade” and “Face Your Fate,” delivering a genuine hardcore experience for fans worldwide.

Taking cues from legendary NYHC bands like Cro-Mags, Dmize, The Icemen, and Dynamo, Mystique fuses the genre’s confrontational spirit and unbridled energy with their unique LCHC flavor. Their debut demo is a testament to the band’s musical philosophy, blending old-school hardcore elements with modern sensibilities.

According to vocalist Syaf, also the guitarist of Fuse, “Mystique is born out of our shared passion for bands like Cro Mags, Ekulu, Illusion, and Combust. We wrote the songs in March after attending the Speed show and recorded several tracks in the studio a month later.”

Mystique’s demo highlights their ability to create relentless, impactful music that connects with audiences on a primal level. “Masquerade” propels listeners through a whirlwind of fierce riffs, powerful rhythms, and introspective lyrics that challenge them to examine their own identities and the masks they might wear. “Face Your Fate” is an unapologetic call to arms, encouraging listeners to confront their fears and take control of their own destinies. Both songs exemplify the band’s unwavering musical talent and lyrical depth.

Mystique’s demo is now available for streaming and download on major music platforms, including Spotify, Bandcamp, and their interactive website.
