Metalcore vets NEAERA return with “All Is Dust” album, out now on Metal Blade Records

2 mins read

All Is Dust, the new full-length from German metalcore veterans NEAERA, is out today on Metal Blade Records!

On February 28th, 2020, NEAERA released their seventh album – their eponymous comeback record after a seven-year-hiatus – which caught everyone by surprise. Despite having been well received, the pandemic impeded the band’s long awaited and already scheduled return to the live stages.

On February 29th, 2020, NEAERA played a sold-out release show, but it remained the only show for the record in years since Wacken, the Impericon festivals, and other shows were forced to be postponed.

By 2021, the NEAERA collective decided it was time for new material. With a desire to return to an old-school writing approach when songs were composed together in a musty rehearsal room, the band started the writing process. The following year, the band recruited Janosch Rathmer (drummer of longtime friends/German post-rock institution Long Distance Calling) to record their new album, All Is Dust.

Mixing and mastering for the record was skillfully executed by Kristian Kohle at Kohlekeller Studios who adorned the songs with a powerful yet organic sound that perfectly fit the band’s vision of their new material and approach.

Lyrically, on All Is Dust, NEAERA has altered their approach a bit and put the individual, its survival, and sanity in these testing times center stage alongside lyrics that tackle global and social clamor – a shift that was arguably pandemic-related.

All Is Dust features cover art by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design (Oceans Of Slumber, Evergrey, Vomitory) and is available on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in the following color variants.

“…the band’s return confirms their strength. All Is Dust will make you mosher and shake your skull frantically with its effective metalcore roots, while lacerating us with its more melodic influences.” – Acta Infernalis

“Unused song structures, surprising twists and lots of depth make the songs a worthy successor to Neaera. All Is Dust is atmospheric, heavy, energetic and old school in the best sense! NEAERA succeeds in the eighth album to find a perfect mix of new ideas and old strengths.” – Fuze Germany

“Once started as a metalcore band, NEAERA have long since positioned themselves somewhere between the poles of death metal, hardcore, and thrash and have almost perfected their formula for hard music.” – Rock Hard Germany

“NEAERA caters to both camps: fans of deathcore grooves with a focus on mosh pit action and fans of neat, straight death metal work.” –

“…100% NEAERA. After 20 years as a band, the guys from Münster have not only perfected their style, they’ve also taken it to a new and modern level.” – MoreCore Germany

“Thank you for this steamroller, NEAERA!” – Oblivion

“…a FANTASTIC album!” – Stormbringer Austria

“All Is Dust contains more variation than its self-titled predecessor from 2020, but at the same time it feels more balanced!” – Rock Tribune Magazine

“All Is Dust gives the metalcore-millennial a feeling of ‘coming home’ and the desire to throw yourself into a mosh pit again!” – Slam Magazine

“…a record that really should not be missing from any metalhead’s collection. This is the modern take on metal in its purest form.” – Whiteroom Reviews

“…a hard-hitting and strong album. The group immerses us more and more into their world and offers us incredible pieces that are as well-crafted as ever.” – Chair Your Sound
