Metallic hardcore beast THE SOUTHERN ORACLE drop new massive single “Griefeater”

May 15, 2020
1 min read

Budapest based muscular post metal tinged metallic hardcore band THE SOUTHERN ORACLE have shared their new single “GRIEFEATER”, featuring the band’s friend András Áron Apey (Lazarvs). Unleash the beast below and see what the band have to say about this punishing new offering.

It’s about how our grief lingers after a loved one passes away. 2019 was a very dark year, too many of our friends died…and our primal loss was and still is our former drummer and brother Andris. We held his hands during his battle with cancer but when misery reigns it pours. Our wounds still open, grief gushing. This song is a teardrinker, soaking up our sorrow, a feast to this hungry feeling…

Lyrics:

heavy sun comes down

we’ve been left in the dust to become the colour of rust. the silence around us is now louder than usual. they never tell you about the difficulties of growing up in this world. we learn our own lessons, cope with reality. the scars i carry cut so deep i bleed like a stuck pig but this won’t be the death of me. i’m building a sinking ship on the ocean of pain. driven by demons painted with grace. this violent place will always be here under my skin, it’s like a corridor of time. i can’t get rid of the sight of the silhouette of sadness. kill the lights, heavy sun comes down on us.

“there are no goodbyes. where ever you’ll be, you’ll be in my heart.”
– ghandi
