Initially to be kept as a studio project only, Norwegian necropunks MARTYRS got started as a drunken idea between Ken-Robert (Ampmandens Døtre, Rongeur) and Bjørnar (Megarobot) a couple of years ago, and Audun (Himmelhøyt) soon joined the fold. The songs quickly proved to be too awesome not to play live so then Dag Ole (Rongeur) and Jon (Ampmandens Døtre, Rongeur) were recruited to complete the live team. With their roots firmly planted in metal, MARTYRS mix in a good dose of black metal with a slight punkish and sludgy groove, and today their debut EP is being released on Ampmandens Records. Recorded by the band themselves and with mixing and mastering taken care of by Ruben Willem (Okkultokrati, Haust, Timeworn). The record will be properly celebrated with a gig at the yearly Ampmandens Records label night March 11th in Oslo, Norway, and can be now streamed in its entirety below!
