New York’s ALL OUT WAR announce “Celestial Rot” for release on February 3, 2023 via Translation Loss Records. ALL OUT WAR are one of the true originators of modern metalcore – not only predating the genre term, but defying and defining what hardcore and metal should sound like for 30 years.
Revolutionary in their approach, ALL OUT WAR fuse the speed and aggression of “Reign in Blood”-era Slayer with the ferocity and attitude of “Age of Quarrel” -era Cro-Mags. Two styles that are vast in sound, but ALL OUT WAR combines them to form an attack that is still unmatched. Add to the mix one of the most iconic voices in hardcore and metal, Mike Score’s unique vocal approach to aggressive music and introspective lyrics has helped keep ALL OUT WAR light years ahead of their time and has never felt more necessary in today’s landscape.
“Celestial Rot” is the band’s eighth full length offering, containing ten tracks of pure aural devastation and offers up their most expansive release to date while reaffirming their position as one of the most powerful and aggressive bands in extreme music. Never content with maintaining the status quo, ALL OUT WAR constantly pushes the boundaries of extreme music with every release – this time melding black metal and death metal influences to the mix while effortlessly maintaining their signature sound. “Celestial Rot” was recorded by Taras Apuzzo of ALL OUT WAR, mixed and mastered by Erol Ulug at Bright Lights Studios (Teeth, Our Place of Worship is Silence, Rotting Out) and features the artwork of Alexandre Goulet (Despised Icon, End, Apes, WAKE, Fit for an Autopsy).
About the release of “Celestial Rot,” ALL OUT WAR frontman Mike Score shares: “Celestial Rot expresses the decay of not only this world, but the dogma that has helped bring us here. The long-awaited full-length will be available on three vinyl variants, compact disc, cassette, and digital via Translation Loss Records. About the signing of ALL OUT WAR, Translation Loss Records co-owner Drew Juergens comments: “This is a monumental day for the label to be working with a band who not only helped mold Metallic Hardcore as we know it but continues to thrust boundaries aside and forge a path ahead of the curve.”

Along with the album announcement, the band have unleashed the first listen to “Celestial Rot” in the form of a music video featuring the track, “Glorious Devastation”. The video was created by Frank Huang and is streaming now at Decibel Magazine. About the release of “Glorious Devastation” Mike Score shares: “Glorious Devastation represents the dark path humanity has embarked upon. It’s a twisted journey towards an apocalyptic end that will cleanse the earth of a tortured and corrupt existence. We chose this song because we felt it captured the essence of the album both lyrically and sonically. We thought it was a fantastic representation of where the band is headed musically.”
