O’BROTHER joins THRICE on tour [UPDATE]

2 mins read

O’BROTHER is pleased to announce that they will be the “very special guest” on THRICE’s upcoming “Farewell Tour”.

The dates will hit nearly every major city across the US, perfect for saying goodbye to fans for Thrice and ideal for introducing the young O’Brother to new audiences. Kicking off in San Diego at the House of Blues on May 4th, the tour will make stops in O’Brother’s hometown of Atlanta (Masquerade 5/13), New York (Best Buy Theater 5/24), Montreal (Metropolis 5/29), Seattle (The Showbox 6/9) and more before concluding in Los Angeles (Club Nokia 6/16). O’Brother is honored to be one of two bands joining Thrice on their last tour for the foreseeable future. Drummer Michael Martens said “It’s a huge honor to be a part of this tour. Thrice has come to mean so much to all of us on so many different levels. It’s going to be an amazing 6 weeks.”

This Spring “Farewell Tour” comes hot on the heels of O’Brother’s first ever enormously successful co-headlining US tour alongside Junius this past winter. Venues were packed across the country including DC9 in Washington, DC, Beauty Bar in Austin, TX, and the Knitting Factory in NYC, bolstering the success of O’Brother’s debut album Garden Window – released January 2012 on Triple Crown Records/Favorite Gentlemen. Critics immediately gravitated toward the album causing a whirlwind of praise including Metromix calling Garden Window “a blissful pummeling of the eardrums,” while Drum named it “the perfect late-autumn soundtrack” and Consequence of Sound dubbed the album a “monstrosity of monumental sonic awesome.” O’Brother even earned accolades from distinguished journalist Jim Fusilli of The Wall Street Journal who featured the band shortly after Garden Window’s release and called the album “a brutalizing blend of industrial rock, alt-metal and metal featuring a three-guitar attack and the savvy, limber work of drummer Michael Martens.”

Armed with fans and critical praise, O’Brother hits the road once again this Spring for this final Thrice trek. Before the tour kicks off, O’Brother will perform a handful of dates with As Cities Burn this April. More good news for fans to come, especially those who have eagerly been waiting for a music video, so stay tuned!
