With OLD WOUNDS confirmed to play this summer’s entire Vans Warped Tour ’16, June 24th to August 13th, the New Jersey band has premiered its newest video, “Heaven Is a Memory,” via the official Warped Tour website. Directed by Aaron Kudler, the video compiles recent footage of the hardcore heathens tearing it up live.
The song “Heaven Is a Memory” appears on Old Wounds’ latest album The Suffering Spirit, released in 2015 on Good Fight Music. The album documents a major maturing of the band’s style, annexing dark melody and texture into its rabid metallic hardcore. Pitchfork described the sound as “emotionally charged, stylistically diverse metalcore”; MetalSucks championed the album for its “powerhouse heaviness” and “brooding Type O Negative vibe.”
Traveling alongside Old Wounds on Warped Tour ’16 are Falling In Reverse, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, Atreyu, Every Time I Die, Motionless In White, Cruel Hand, Capsize, and dozens more. Now in its 21st year, Warped Tour is the longest-running touring festival in North America.
Old Wounds’ Warped Tour run this summer will feature the addition of new guitarist Matt Guyre – the quartet is now a quintet for the first time since its formation in 2010.
With summer approaching fast, 2016 has already seen the band play New England Metal and Hardcore Festivaland shows with the likes of Zao, On Broken Wings, and Candiria.
