PALEFACE SWISS premiere new album “CURSED”

Swiss deathcore / metalcore innovators Paleface Swiss have released their highly anticipated third album, Cursed, now available for streaming in full. The Zurich-based quartet delivers a record that pushes their sound into darker, more experimental territory while staying rooted in the crushing intensity that has earned them a devoted following.

Opening with the eerie and unsettling “Un Pobre Niño Murió,” Cursed sets the stage with a chilling reinterpretation of a traditional Canarian lullaby. The track builds a haunting atmosphere that transitions seamlessly into “Hatred,” a relentless firestorm of blast beats and guttural vocals, capturing the frustration and negativity of modern life.

Tracks like “…and with hope you’ll be damned” and “Don’t You Ever Stop” showcase the band’s ability to incorporate groove-heavy nu-metal elements while retaining their signature deathcore brutality.

Meanwhile, “Enough?” offers a stark contrast, blending hip-hop influences with scathing commentary on toxic behavior in the scene, before unexpectedly revisiting themes from their previous album, Fear & Dagger.

Throughout the album, frontman Marc “Zelli” Zellweger’s vocal versatility shines, effortlessly shifting between ferocious growls, rapid-fire screams, and moments of melodic clarity.

Drummer Cassiano Toma and guitarist Yannick Lehmann bring technical precision and intensity, creating a dense, dynamic soundscape.

Standout moments include “Love Burns,” where melodic death metal riffs intertwine with thunderous breakdowns, and the emotional closer, “River of Sorrows,” which balances raw heaviness with an unexpected sense of melancholy, leaving listeners with a lasting impression of beauty and despair.

With Cursed, Paleface Swiss have crafted their most personal and ambitious work to date, exploring themes of mental health, societal decay, and personal transformation.

The album’s raw energy and some experimentation ensure its place as a defining release for 2025.
