The reunion was announced yesterday when Lindberg and guitarist Fletcher Dragge visited Los Angeles radio station KROQ to discuss their reconciliation. The band themselves state:

We’re happy to announce that Jim is rejoining Pennywise and we’re all looking forward to playing music together again. We’re going to celebrate our re-union with a show at the Hollywood Palladium, January 18th to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Pennywise for our friends and fans in L.A.

Lindberg, who played on all of PENNYWISE‘s recordings from 1989 to 2008, left the band in August 2009 to pursue other interests, and issued a statement saying:

After 20 years, nine albums and thousands of shows around the world, my time in Pennywise has come to an end. Being the singer for this band has been an amazing experience, and along the way we made some of the best fans anyone could ask for.

The band continued on with IGNITE singer Zoli Teglas as Lindberg‘s replacement, and with him, released their tenth studio album “All or Nothing” last May.

According to Dragge and LindbergTeglas has wanted out of the band for a while. “He’s actually happy. He’s happy to get the hell out of here,” laughs Dragge“Jim told me he was calling and saying, ‘Hurry up and come back man.’”
