Featuring members from acts like Man the Machetes, Torch and ieatheartattacks, THE NIKA RIOTS from Oslo, Norway recorded their first EP “Set Fire”, made two music videos, and signed a record deal even before their first live show when they shocased their unique blend of hardcore, screamo, and post hardcore, glued with vocal harmonies and guitar riffs full of details and groovy, powerful drums. Today we’re stoked to give you their new single “Perseverance”, a quality taste of their upcoming album “Derelict”, to be released lated this year via Mas-Kina Recordings.
Comments the band: “Perseverance is about overcoming obstacles which life throws at you. When you’re going through hard times, maybe you tell yourself that you’re going to deal with it all alone. Might sound easy at first, but it’s not.
Dealing with hardship in solitude will ultimately lead you down a destructive path. Swallow that pride, talk to someone you trust, and you’ll be surprised how much love and support you can find in other people.”
THE NIKA RIOTS released their debut single “Nine Meals From Anarchy” with accompanying music video in the summer of 2018 and spent the following months on the stage, playing at festivals such as Øya Festivalen and Harpefoss Hardcore Festival and touring with bands like Sibiir and Black Debbath.
The band spent the last two years, writing and recording their debut album “Derelict”, which will be released on April 29 via Mas-Kina Recordings.
Produced and recorded by THE NIKA RIOTS and mastered by the legend Alan Douches, the album consists of 11 aggressive, melodic and catchy songs that sees them merging heavy riffs with a hardcore attitude, punchy rhythms and screamy vocals.
