Lyrics:
“Play for me all our days I couldn’t say I caused delay,” his Schylling shakes low and breaks, “now how far are we along?” “Was there something you were going to say?” You in your summer sweat, melting me in loving heat, I gotta go, I can’t show my face here anymore. This trying has been trying, I’ve been trying for you. As long as you’ve known me, “I couldn’t wait.” Was there something you were going to say? Never better late than never better. This timing takes work, this “practice takes purses,” still hope you’re sure, still hope I’m worth it. It’s always early until it’s late, until you’re late, until I’m late. The 6-10’s are mine, at least you know what’s on my mind, right? Losing my nightly race, just trying to take my own place now. This trying comes first, is it all still working? Still hope you’re sure, still hope I’m worth it. I’d take anything. My Genevieve, on the eve of everything, sits with me and grieves all I said and forgot but stuck, all your life just waiting on me, waiting on luck. I’d take anything, now. Was there something you were going to say?
