PLAYLOUNGE have released a music video for their track “Waves and Waves and Waves” off their album “Pilot”, to be released on April 14th via Dog Knights Productions. Check it out below and scroll down to see their upcoming dates with NAI HARVEST!
The band’s drummer and vocalist Saam commented for This Is Fake DIY:
“The song is about a getaway, but to something rather than from something. How it’s full of light, sonically and lyrically, and how it’s a fond reminisce of an adolescent heart.”
Lyrics:
we’d play american
weightless we’d sleep sprawled across this town
i stepped up surely to an impossible doubt
i wish i knew that voice a little better
i wish i knew that voicedriving doe eyed a million miles far
bend me. bend me,
roads wider than the sea oh.. the sea
can you feel it caving in?
get up. get out. go.
The label issued the following statement on the record:
playlounge are Saam (drums, vocals) and Laurie (guitar). Formed in Lewisham, south London in 2010, they write noisy pop songs with punk heart. ‘pilot’ is their nine track debut album.
After years of appearing on splits with bands like Joanna Gruesome and Birdskulls, and releasing a pair of EPs ‘Kitten Frenzy’ in 2011 and ‘Thrash Magic’ in 2012′, they’ve written easily their nine best songs to date. Fast songs and slow songs. Songs about life, comics, and adventures.
Recorded with Dom James (Johnny Foreigner, Calories etc), ‘pilot’ is a nine track album lasting over thirty minutes, and will come out on two different vinyl colourways with printed inner-sleeves designed by Lew Currie (Nai Harvest) on 14th April.
