Post black metal act [‘selvə] streaming new record

June 8, 2016
1 min read

SELVA [‘selvə] (est. 2013) has just unveiled their impressive second record called “eléo”, showcasing quality mixtures of some of the most extreme styles in heavy music, drawing from their previous experience in hardcore bands from Northern Italy,  as well as various post metal and black metal experiments showing unearthly, supernatural forces, serving really forceful, unforgettable experience.

The record was recorded live at Crono Sound Factory by Fabrizio Sanpietro, mixed at Trai Studio by Fabio Intraina, mastered at The Atomic Garden Recording Studio by Jack Shirley and is available via Over-Drive label and Shove Records.

Founded in late 2013 by Tommaso Rey (drums), Andrea Pezzi (bass/vocals) and Alessandro Andriolo (guitars/
vocals), [‘selvə] is the author of a unique sound consisting of blackened atmospheres and abrasive sonorities, with
a clash of themes and motifs that goes from black metal to instrumental post-rock.
Their first album called “lajf həbɪtʃuəl” has been acclaimed by the Italian and international underground scene,
allowing the band to play almost 100 shows in less than two years since its release.
Compared to their previous work, [‘selvə]’s new opus, “eléo” is focusing on darker and more introspective
soundscapes, with lyrical themes inspired by personal thoughts on how vital mistakes in human relationships can
consume a person’s mind little by little.
The album is a Femore Produzioni production and has been recorded live at Crono Sound Factory, mixed at Trai
Studio and mastered at The Atomic Garden by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Oathbreaker, Loma Prieta), featuring a
performance by friend and label-mate Nicola Manzan (Bologna Violenta) on the violin and strings.
Releasing June 11, 2016 by Overdrive with the collaboration of Shove Records and distributed by Goodfellas, eléo
will be a showcase on the band’s current live sound and an exact proof of how intense a [‘selvə] concert can be.
