The B Side Foundation and Foundation of Memory Sites near Auschwitz – Birkenau, in partnership with The Falstad Center are pleased to invite you to a unique online event, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first mass transport of political prisoners from the Tarnów prison to German Nazi Concentration And Extermination Camp Auschwitz Birkenau. Broadcast of the concert will begin on the 14th of June 2020, at 8pm CET. During the event, Polish post rock act BESIDES will present material from their concept-album ‘Bystanders’, inspired by the stories of Auschwitz prisoners and the local inhabitants, living in the shadow of the camp during World War II. The concert will take place in the historic SS Küche building, which belongs to the camp complex. Before the concert, the audience will be invited to meet special guest, Eleonora Szafran – the daughter of Tadeusz “Teddy” Pietrzykowski, a prisoner of the first transport.
