“Punkowa Zamojszczyzna 1983-2023,” a deep dive into the punk history of the Zamojszczyzna region in Eastern Poland, is now available for streaming via No Pasaran Records.
This ambitious project, which has been in the works for some time, finally saw its physical release in May 2024.
The release includes a double LP, a double CD, and a carefully crafted 300-page book filled with photographs from the era, curated by Petr from Underground Factory.
On the CDs, you’ll find all the recordings from the region’s bands that could be gathered—56 in total. The vinyl edition features a selection of 27 tracks, with some different numbers from the CDs. The bands featured range from the well-known to those that have only been recognized locally, creating a rich blend of the region’s punk scene over the past 40 years.
The project is a true punk rock archaeological effort, uncovering and preserving music from bands like Walonki Sołtysa, Cnotliwa Zakonnica, Fura Gnoju, Nocne Polucje, and many others.
The physical edition is strictly limited, with no plans for reprints—though the possibility of a revised edition exists if new material comes to light.
Streaming is now available via Bandcamp under the No Pasaran Records label, allowing for unlimited access to this historic collection.
