Robert Mcallister, the recently-departed guitarist of NYC punk rock band IRON CHIC, has passed away. A fundraiser to help his family, who suddenly lost their boyfriend and father, who was the main financial support for the family, has been organized and can be reached at this location.
The band issued the following statement:
It is with the heaviest of hearts and deepest regrets that we must say goodbye to a dear friend. Although we had recently parted ways it makes the reality no easier to bear. Every wild ride must come to an end so rest in peace Robert Mcallister and give our regards to Lemmy. We’ll miss you always.
Brian Shultz of Bridge Nine Records’ Distribution added:
We were shocked and saddened to hear about Rob Mcallister, formerly of Iron Chic, passing away yesterday. I’ve known Rob for close to a decade, since his earlier days playing in Capital, and he was always super warm, friendly, and personable in our interactions. He also helped create some of the best punk rock to ever come from Long Island. Everyone at B9 sends our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and fans.
