RUN WITH THE HUNTED breaks ups – farewell dates available!

2 mins read

Arizona’s crushing hardcore act RUN WITH THE HUNTED has announced they are breaking up! The band has just announced a string of their farewell shows.

RUN WITH THE HUNTED have been together for 7 years, and played a bunch of amazing shows all around the world. This was by no means an easy decision, but I hope that at the end of the day these guys are moving on to much bigger things and personally more important things and next chapters in their lives. Long live their spirit, their intriguing message, and their outstanding form of heavy compositions.

Check out the official word below and head over here to read my recent interview with the band’s frontman Drew Wilkinson.

Some of you might have noticed that this will be a farewell tour for us. After 7 years, 4 albums, 2 continents, thousands of miles, a million laughs and a few blown tires along the way, the 5 of us are ready to move onto other things. Run with the Hunted has been, and will probably continue to be, the most important thing we have done with our lives as individuals. The journey this band took us on changed us forever and we will always be grateful to all of you who were a part of that. We can only hope that in some small way, we were able to return the favor.

The Sieve in the Sand was conceived as a final statement. Moving forward with this tour and our final shows, this will become more apparent. We can’t think of a more appropriate way to say goodbye to you all than this tour with Hollow Earth. We’ve been friends for years and they are without a doubt one of the most exciting and powerful hardcore bands to come out in a long time. We feel a little better bowing out knowing bands like this exist.

As sad as we are to say goodbye, every ending offers a new beginning. We want to pursue other areas of our lives which make writing and touring nearly impossible, at least for now. As much as we would have loved to tour far beyond the west coast, our current life situations make even that impossible. We apologize to anyone who wanted to see us again; after this tour, there will be a final show in Arizona. Details are still being worked out but when the time comes, we’ll do everything we can to make sure everyone can attend. Until then, letting go is an important lesson in and of itself and so with that in mind, we are saying goodbye now while it feels right.

The ideals that founded, shaped, inspired and changed this band – human/animal/earth liberation, equality, respect and compassion for all life, the pursuit of truth even when it’s uncomfortable and the desire to create an inclusive community founded on DIY ethics that operates outside of mainstream profit driven models will continue to be neglected, ostracized, made fun of and outright hated everywhere, even within our own little community. The need to educate people on the horrors of modern civilization while taking an honest look at the true price of progression has never been stronger. Bands come and go but ideas are forever.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of this with us. We have nothing but profound gratitude for the opportunity to have experienced something so powerful and transformative.

Reject Power. Destroy Hierarchy. Resist Authority.
