SEE THROUGH PERSON drop new screamy emo track, break down new album

2 mins read

On October 25, the California-based indie emo trio See Through Person will release their debut full-length album, Every Way of Living. Building on the emotional groundwork laid with their well-received EP Chariot, this record showcases the band’s journey after they spent the last few years refining their songwriting and sonic identity.

Today, they’ve dropped the latest single ahead of the release and you can check it out right here!

Also, See Through Person is set to hit the road with fellow emo outfit Aren’t We Amphibians for a fall tour spanning cities across the U.S., where you can catch them bringing their personal songs to life.

The band joins us today for a full track-by-track breakdown of Every Way of Living – check it out below the tour poster.

Every Way of Living dives into the challenges of self-acceptance, especially as a transgender person, and the fallout of relationships that don’t survive that journey.

The album moves through feelings of isolation, loss, and uncertainty while finding new connections and embracing who you truly are.

Each track reflects the raw emotions of figuring things out—letting go of the past, navigating family struggles, and learning that growth sometimes means moving on from what’s familiar.

If that sounds emo enough for you, hop in!

Aren’t We Amphibians ’24 Fall Tour

SEE THROUGH PERSON

kitchen song

A song about being in a new place all alone and feeling scared. Particularly feeling scared about saying the wrong thing

stupid joke

When a relationship you thought was really promising and would last your whole life, doesn’t last. And beginning to deal with the fallout of that

girl talk

“girl talk” is a song about how coming out as transgender can cause existing personal relationships to collapse, and the journey of finding new people and communities who love and accept who you are.

temporary word

Reminiscing about that person in your life that you let go. And all of the things you used to say to them.

don’t text me

Being in a new transition period of your life and feeling uneasy about the future.

frail dog

This is a song about your familial relationships changing after coming out as transgender. Your Dad calling you by the wrong name and the complicated feelings that come from that.

mono yellow

A re-recording of a song off our first EP “chariot”, we felt we hadn’t achieved what we wanted to with that last recording and wanted another shot. The song is about being perceived as someone you don’t want to be.

can’t let it go

A song about letting people from your past go who aren’t good for you- and how hard that can be.

hands

Finally accepting your gender dysphoria and being coming out to yourself and other people. And coming to terms with the fact that some people may not accept you

my stranger

Finding yourself as a trans person in new communities and exploring queer relationships. Meeting other trans people and feeling inspired and seen. But later understanding some journeys are better taken alone and feeling at peace with moving on from who you once were
