There are dozens of noteworthy bands with releases of largely similar emotional hardcore / screamo tinged post hardcore with only mild variations in sound to differentiate one from another, yet it’s still possible to dig out some interesting and engaging records that seem to deliver a solidly realised version of something that’s already been done. Positive impressions and good reviews are surely boosted by our mad love for these patterns and powerful, poignant sounds that blend high level energy with melodious and emotional vibes, but it’s somehow fascinating that you can so easily discover loads of great new bands that bring a truly satisfying listen to the table. Gornji Milanovac, Serbia based REFLECTION are my newest find in the aforementioned department, and it’s my pleasure to advertise their latest full length “Different Paths”.
Formed back in 2017, REFLECTION recorded their debut full length alongside Uros Milkic at ,Down There Studio’ in Belgrade, Serbia in July 2019. Mixed and mastered by Lazar Kerezovic, the album is currently available on CD format and the band is looking for a vinyl version as well.
“We aren’t in financial possibility right now to made it on our own, so if some of the labels want and can help us with the record, we would be grateful and we are open for the collaboration to release this album on vinyl as well.”
Asked about inspirations and content behind their songs, they added:
The whole record is a little bit emotionally, dark and melodic, and thats maybe one of the things which describes our music. There are a lot of influences on our work, but in the those 3 years we menage to create our sound and the way how we present it to the audience. Inspiration for the riffs and lyrics are coming periodically and the songs album are not conceptually written but there are a lot of connection between the songs and all that is embraced with the front and back cover photos on our CD release.
