Singapore heavy hardcore pack FUEL throws big punches with new EP โ€œWhen All Else Failsโ€ โ€“ listen here!

1 min read

โ€œWhen All Else Failsโ€, the newest EP from Singapore heavy hardcore band FUEL delves further into self-awareness and questioning the system, while simultaneously displaying the growth and progression of the band both musically and personally. Today, we have teamed up with Divided We Fall label, distro and fanzine, to give you an early listen of the full beast, slated for the official release on October 24th.

โ€œThe opening track โ€œDerealisationโ€ is a reflection of constantly being in a state of uncertainty and self-doubt, torn between conformity or paving our own path.โ€ โ€“ comments guitarist Izzat. โ€œOnly when it gets too much to bear, do we take a moment to look back and finally realise that itโ€™s caused more harm than good, and how itโ€™s affected ourselves and all we care about.

โ€˜Derealisationโ€™ basically inspired the artwork for When All Else Fails (painted by our vocalist Hazim).

โ€œOne might argue that you can choose what you consume, but the use of technology is life by default in this day and age. Takes more effort to avoid it.โ€ โ€“ says Izzat.

โ€œThe faces represent the influx of information thatโ€™s available and presented to us in a manner that it almost feels like being force-fed. From our social media timelines to the conversations we have or somehow listen in on.โ€

โ€œPut it all together, and it becomes this noise that overwhelms and overlaps that it becomes impossible to filter out. And all this as we fall endlessly into a mental and emotional void.โ€
