On October 18th, 2024, Athens-based, IDIOTEQ-featured hardcore outfit Kin Corruption return with “Slaves,” a track that cuts deep into the core of modern society’s growing dependence on technology.
Blending metallic hardcore with heavy riffs and raw lyrical power, this single doesn’t just deliver a sonic punch—it’s a grim commentary on how our lives have become entangled in the digital web of distraction.
“Not much of control we have over it, not much of a choice, could have avoided it,” growls vocalist Giannis B., delivering a scathing reflection on how technology has us in its grasp. The track is unapologetically direct, channeling frustration and fury as it calls out the new reality—a world where freedom of speech exists, but not freedom of reach. The lyrics take aim at a system where even personal expression is commodified, feeding the machine that monetizes every fleeting moment of distraction.

The band, long celebrated in the Athenian hardcore scene, showcases their signature aggression, but “Slaves” stands out for its intensity. Guitarist Dimitris T. frames the single as both a rallying cry and a warning. “We’ve gone through some tough times and changes, but that’s only made us stronger. ‘Slaves’ is us hitting back hard, and it’s a warning shot to a world that’s drowning in distractions.”
Recorded at NoMaD Studios in Athens by Kostas Katsantonis, the track’s production retains the grit and raw energy of Kin Corruption’s live performances while amplifying the weight of its message. Mastered by John Mor Prods, “Slaves” is as sharp in sound as it is in meaning.
For a band that draws comparisons to Hatebreed and Terror, it’s no surprise that the message is delivered with unapologetic force. Kin Corruption, having weathered lineup changes and shifts in their sound, stand united in this release. The addition of drummer Alex K. has only fueled their relentless drive, and with the band sharing stages with hardcore legends like Agnostic Front and Lionheart, their reputation as a formidable live act continues to grow.

As technology tightens its grip on modern life, “Slaves” arrives as a harsh reminder: the price of convenience and connection may be higher than we care to admit.
