Spanish female fronted hardcore pack WE RIDE premiere new single ‘What You Are’; European May dates approaching

1 min read

Victory Records’ latest signing, WE RIDE, have released ‘What You Are,’ the next cut from their forthcoming album, Empowering Life. Set for release on April 14th, Empowering Life serves as WE RIDE’s inauguration as the next heavy hitters in hardcore. Guest vocals on the track feature Deez Nuts front-man JJ Peters. Full of “fist in the air anthems for an empowered and unified world,” as described by New Noise Magazine, Empowering Life brings a breath of fresh air to a lifestyle and genre that never dies. In support of the album, the Spanish hardcore outfit have also unveiled the first round of tour dates.

Front-woman Mimi Telmo explains:

“’What You Are’ is about the fine line split between friendship and indifference. No matter how hard you try to salvage a relationship, sometimes you just have to walk away.” On the collaboration, she adds, “I’ve always been a Deez Nuts fan, and when meeting JJ in person, I saw that he is not only a great front-man, but also a lovely person. Over the years we became good friends and we always have a great time when we share a stage together. While writing this song, I felt it was perfect for JJ and I love how it turned out!”

WE RIDE hit the studio in 2016 with Alex Cappa at Metal Factory Studios outside Madrid, Spain, and the album was mixed in early 2017 by Cameron Webb (Motorhead, NOFX).

Catch hardcore’s next champions as WE RIDE hit the road on the heels of Empowering Life this spring.
