Critically heralded Bay Area punk band THE STORY SO FAR has released a new song today titled “Out Of It.” In effort to raise awareness and money for mental health research, the band and their label, Pure Noise Records, will be donating a portion of proceeds to The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation.
Starting today, fans can purchase the new single “Out Of It” on limited edition 7” vinyl. There will only be 500 copies available on the site and all proceeds from those sales will be donated to The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation. Another 1000 copies will be available on the band’s upcoming tour.
Lyrics:
Leaning on a bad knee,
Don’t really wanna be with anyone
Can you hear in my key?
How can you not see it’s not always fun
Wait and score, speed back lock the door and just pour,
I’m gettin numb
Not enough, gimme more soda
Soaking through the floor of 51My appropriate opiate has me out of it,
I can’t believe you’re still upset
Get over it,
And leave me aloneMy appropriate opiate has me out of it,
I can’t believe you’re still upset
Get over it,
And leave me aloneGlue me into my seat,
Spill onto me feet and let it run
Cause I am all that you need,
The hunger I feed,
My loaded gun
Always sore in my in my back from the spine that I lack to really be done
That’s enough,
No more
I’m barely breathing anymore
Ask me how did I let this get worse?
Dove through the mud for my verse
Tell me how many wounds can you nurse?
Dive into nothing head firstIts holding on but barely by the edge,
You always ask me where I go
I’m high now, I’ll hide it from you and her my closest friends and everyone
“We want to help contribute to The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation because we want people to know that there is hope and that you don’t have to go it alone. From addiction to anxiety to eating disorders, or schizophrenia, we believe there is a way to help with these illnesses. We personally struggle with some of these illnesses everyday and we want to help each other out. Please reach out to a loved one, speak up and don’t be afraid to be honest about what’s happening. To learn more…” – Will Levy (guitar)
