Arm in arm with another great news on the hugely anticipated reunion from SAETIA, we’re thrilled to announce the highly rumoured comeback of 90s emo patrons, SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE! The band will be reuniting this year for their first tour in 12 years, and the band just announced their first show at this year’s Riot Fest (see the flyer below).
The band will hi the stage on September 17th, the second day of the fest, headlined by The Original Misfits (performing Walk Among Us), and also featuring Bauhaus, Bad Religion, GWAR, 7Seconds, Madball, Fear, and more bands.
The reunion will include vocalist/guitarist Jeremy Enigk, guitarist Dan Hoerner and drummer William Goldsmith, but not original bassist Nate Mendel (also currently of the Foo Fighters). “Nate was part of the 2009-2010 reunion tour, but he also sat out most of the band’s late ’90s / early 2000s run.” – reports Brooklynvegan.
Headliners of the festival include emo rockers My Chemical Romance, the mentioned reunited punk rock legends The Original Misfits and Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inducted industrial metal legends Nine Inch Nails. The 17th edition of the punk and rock fest takes at Chicago’s Douglas Park from September 16th to 18th.
Single-day, two-day, and three-day passes are on sale now at the festival’s website.
