Superheaven is back. After ten years without a full-length release, the Pennsylvania-based band has announced their self-titled album, set to drop on April 18 via Blue Grape Music. Along with the announcement, they’ve released a new single, “Cruel Times,” accompanied by a music video directed by Britain Weyant.

The album, recorded and engineered by the band’s own Jake Clarke and Zack Robbins and co-produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Mannequin Pussy), follows up their 2015 album Ours Is Chrome.

The band leans into the heavy, overcast tone they’ve always embraced, pushing their sound further with a sense of pensive gloom. “Cruel Times” joins previously released singles “Long Gone” and “Numb to What Is Real.”

Pre-orders for Superheaven are open now, with multiple exclusive vinyl pressings available, including a tour edition featuring 180-gram black vinyl and a rainbow foil jacket.

Superheaven will embark on a North American headline tour starting April 27 in St. Louis, MO, with Glare and SPY as supporting acts. The tour includes stops in major cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and New York, concluding on May 20 at Brooklyn Steel. Pre-sale tickets are available now, with general on-sale starting February 21 at 10:00 AM local time.

Superheaven’s presence has never fully faded despite the lack of new releases. The band’s lineup—Jake Clarke (vocals, guitar), Taylor Madison (vocals, guitar), Joe Kane (bass), and Zack Robbins (drums)—has kept a low but steady pulse, playing sporadic shows over the years, including appearances at Outbreak Fest in 2022 and Sick New World in 2023.

Their 2013 debut Jar gained momentum slowly, establishing the band within underground circles. By the time Ours Is Chrome came out in 2015, their reputation was solidified. BrooklynVegan later ranked it among the “50 Best Punk & Emo Albums: 2015-2019.” Tracks like “Poor Aileen” racked up millions of streams, and in the years since, their music found a second life through fan rediscovery, with “Youngest Daughter” alone surpassing 128 million streams.

Ten years after Jar, Superheaven marks both a return and a continuation. The weight in their sound hasn’t lifted, and the themes of isolation, frustration, and disillusionment are as present as ever. The album arrives in a time that feels custom-built for their particular kind of heavy, slow-burning catharsis.
