Swervedriver returns with new material in The World’s Fair EP, set for release on 7th March 2025 via Outer Battery Records. The title track’s video debuted on 14th February, offering a precise glimpse into a sound that layers signature guitar work with lush psychedelic textures.
This marks the first collection of original songs since 2018’s Future Ruins, coming on the heels of the celebrated reissue of 99th Dream and last year’s outtakes/demos package Doremi Faso Latido.
Guitarist and vocalist Adam Franklin explains, “We haven’t really done an EP since our days with Creation. I have no idea why it was the done thing back then, but it was a cool way to present your music with no sort of commitment to direction. You could just go off on one on any song if you wanted, and that’s what we wanted to do again here. I’ve always consumed music via singles anyway and was always partial to a good B-side or three.”
The record—crafted with the assistance of TJ Doherty, Ride’s Mark Gardener, and Rick Beato, and featuring contributions from Will Foster, Calina de la Mare, and Sarah Willson—comprises four tracks: Pack Yr Vision, Volume Control, The World’s Fair, Time Attacks.
Classic Rock describes the release as exhibiting “states of epic rock grace, bubbling and oozing with beauty,” while Pitchfork remarks, “If you missed them the first time or simply weren’t around to hear them, Swervedriver is worth the trip back in time.”
The lineup on the EP features Adam Franklin on vocals and guitar, Jim Hartidge on guitar, Mikey Jones on drums, and Mick Quinn on bass.
Available in vinyl and digital formats, the record can be pre-ordered via Outer Battery Records.
