Upstate New York rockers TAKE ONE CAR have just released their second video from sophomore album “It’s Going To Be A Nice Day”. The video for “I Know Why You Went Into The Woods” which premiered on Pure Volume is now available for general posting.
Here’s the official word:
TAKE ONE CAR has previously played with the likes of Thrice and Circa Survive as well as gracing the prestigious stages of Bamboozle and Hoodwink. Considered one of the hardest working bands in the Northeast, Take One Car was named ‘Unsigned Hero’ finalist by Alternative Press Magazine and Airwalk Shoes, and their popularity has rocketed off the back of their sophomore offering, having just completed their third national tour of the year.
The psychedelic new video includes dazzling neon lights and waves of distortion transcending both visual and audio, as well as the aggressive yet ambient undertone which has become synonymous with Take One Car in the past 3 years. The band explains how the concept for the video came about, ‘We had just come home from our June tour and a local art director offered us this amazing interactive exhibit to do whatever we wanted with. It was too beautiful to turn down…’
‘It’s no easy task to make an album that holds true to post-hardcore, indie, and rock’s individual aesthetics, while still keeping it cohesive. Unless, of course, you’re Take One Car and are offering up sophomore album It’s Going To Be a Nice Day.’ – Pure Volume
Too often alluring effects overshadow the skin and bones of a video, but in this case there is no such problem, with driving instrumentals and Tyler’s delicate vocal ensuring the track is very much at the forefront of the controlled chaos. The band describes, ‘We went for a very shaky out of focus approach with the video to capture the chaotic vibe of the song, and to leave some mystery to the surroundings.’
The recording process took just two hours, with the rest of the production left to the mastery of Kevin Irish & Enrique Veliz.
‘The music truly takes a life of its own, vibrantly flowing along in the precise direction the band intended for it. 80%’ – Absolute Punk
Take One Car will be back on the road this August, with a 12 date, 6 state tour of the Northeast. Having successfully conquered the majority of the U.S on two huge national tours already this year, these new dates further cement the bands reputation as one of the hardest working bands around, a label which has helped ensure they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Circa Survive and Thrice, as well as having played the prestigious stages of Bamboozle, Hoodwink and Seaside Festivals. Further recognition has since come with the accolade of being named Alternative Press Magazine & Airwalk Shoes ‘Unsigned Hero’ finalist.
