Talkin’ about weird music videos? Watch “Cadence and Carousel”, the newest clip from VVOMEN!

1 min read

“Cadence and Carousel”, the newest jam from VVOMEN, is a lumbering punk song about a couple’s first dance at their wedding. Though it’s such a simple and brief moment, the lyrics explore the worry of being able to provide what is needed to sustain a lifelong relationship with that person. The earnest, speak/shouting style vocals are emotional, but not emo and the music is angular, but unabashedly melodic and catchy. In the video, the band conceptualizes an alternate world and the need to rescue someone that is trapped there (probably influenced after a binge session of Stranger Things). The part you might find the most impressive about this video is the handmade, giant papier-mache heads that the band created. The video feels a lot like the trailer to an action-packed record on the way in late July.
