Thai hardcore band Whispers pulse through their “Bangkok Evilcore” sound in new single “Wisenheimer (You Were Never One Of Us)” out today.
The song serves as the third single from the band’s upcoming Yom-Ma-Lok EP out December 13th on Flatspot Records.
The track builds up with crunchy riffs before heading into an all out annihilation of raged vocals and pulsating drums. Shaun Alexander of Demonstration Of Power pops in for a guest vocal feature at a gruff aspect to Nitisart “Mike” Chaiburi’s in-your-face delivery.
Originally formed in 2014, the band picked up steam in 2021 with the release of their Narok Bon Din EP grabbing international attention.
Hitting the studio in Spring 2024, Whispers set out to make a heavy, intense record that connects on an emotional level. The band worked with Suchai at Sixthirty Recording Studio in Bangkok to hone in on their sound, before sending the EP to Andy Nelson at BrickTop Recording for mixing and Brad Boatright at Audiosiege mastered it. Influence from bands like All Out War and Merauder comes through across the seven songs, giving a tough as nails delivery packed with menacing riffs.
Guest vocal features from Jem Siow of Speed, Shaun Alexander of Demonstration Of Power, Stephen Bessac of Kickback add to the furiosity of the EP. Thematically, Yom-Ma-Lok addresses realism and human nature through a global perspective.
Yom-Ma-Lok is available for preorder now through Flatspot Records.
