THE CALLOUS DAOBOYS share “Pushing The Pink Envelope”, loads of tour dates available

2 mins read

It seems the cosmos has once again aligned in favor of our recent interviewees The Callous Daoboys. With October 20th marked for the debut of their EP, God Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys, courtesy of MNRK Heavy and Modern Static Records, this Atlanta-bred sextet have teased our senses with the mystifying release of “Pushing The Pink Envelope.”

There’s a rare quality to The Callous Daoboys; they oscillate between raving madness and sultry melodies, always pushing the envelope (pun intended). The group’s eclectic influence โ€“ whether metal, jazz, or pop โ€“ ensures they remain a kaleidoscope of sound, as the media has noted time and time again.

This single is an enigmatic dance of discord and rhythm. It invites listeners into an alluring chaos where unconventional time signatures waltz with rave-inspired synths. Carson Pace’s pristine vocals clash and converse with fervent screams, propelling The Callous Daoboys further into their realm of genre defiance.

This auditory journey continues in the accompanying video, where it sequences from “Waco Jesus” and traces the band’s odyssey to uncover the elusive “suburban spectre.”

Following their lauded 2022 album, Celebrity Therapist, God Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys pushes the envelope, even more, presenting a fierce display of their signature experimental noise.

A triad of songs that fluidly transition from chaotic ruptures to meticulously designed hooks, this collection transcends any preset musical boundary. Their audacity doesn’t end there, as they weave their way through genres – from Nu-Jazz to Salsa – the tracks resonate with a raw authenticity, championing the ethos of staying true to one’s art.
