THE LIFE AND TIMES’ new album, video & tour dates

1 min read

Post-hardcore / space rock band THE LIFE AND TIMES will release their new album on January 17, 2012.

Watch the band performing their song “Day Twelve”:

Allen Epley (guitars/vocals) comments:

We shot the video at our studio here in Chicago, affectionately named Electronical for its super close proximity and relative puniness to Steve Albini’s Electrical studio. It was done on a blistering hot day in June and our studio has no climate control. Through the sweat we mic’d up the drum kit and amps and kind of just faked our way through what turned out to be a pretty cool live in-studio performance.

Eric and Chris couldn’t hear any of the vocals and neither could I much – to be honest. It was filmed by Clayton Brown and edited by Eric Abert, our bassist, at a point in time after we’d laid down basic tracks and overdubs on everything, but still hadn’t begun the mixing process for ‘No One Loves You’ which happened in Sept 2011 at the Blasting Room by Jason Livermore. It’s an entirely live recording with absolutely no overdubs or cleanups, performed while finishing an entire bottle of Cabin Still bourbon.
