THE WORLD IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE & I AM NO LONGER AFRAID TO DIE share new track

2 mins read

“Space Exploration to Solve Earthly Crises” off the band’s upcoming EP, Between Bodies, on BrooklynVegan. Between Bodies will be released on Broken World Media on October 7, 2014 and is now available for pre-order in both North America and the EU/UK.

Forever a band unafraid to push the boundaries of their own artistic expectations and their fans, the band discreetly sent 12 tapes containing the new track to record stores around the country last week, encouraging fans to seek them out and listen to the song early. This is the latest creative action from a group who audaciously creates their own musical path.

Between Bodies is a collaboration with spoken world artist Chris Zizzamia, and the band’s first release since their much heralded 2013 debut full-length Whenever, If Ever on Topshelf Records.  The EP was  recorded by the band’s guitarist Chris Teti at his Silver Bullet Studios (art & track listing below). Tickets are currently on sale for the band’s first North American headlining tour taking place this fall with support from The Hotelier, Rozwell Kid, and Posture & the Grizzly (all tour dates below).

Between Bodies finds the indie collective simultaneously reaching the most quintessential version of their cinematic, twilit sound while challenging both themselves and the listener.  The album pairs compelling, impressionist post-rock landscape with narratives of love, death, existentialism and the human condition.  Yet despite the experimental nature of the EP, The World Is a Beautiful Place has managed to craft what is likely their most melodic, infectious work thus far.  Between Bodies presents a fascinating snapshot of one of the most creative bands currently writing music, unafraid to push against boundaries in their inspired explorations.

The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die burst into the national spotlight last year with the release of Whenever, If Ever.  The album garnered praise across the internet, with Pitchfork calling the record a “rare debut…Whenever, If Ever fights against fears, societal expectations, preconceptions, and the metaphysical for the greater good of society.”  Stereogum praised  it “a gorgeously ambitious sprawl of bleeding hearts and far-flung instrumentation.”

The band, which functions more as a collective of musicians, has become known for their original ideas and recently teamed up with Audiotree to release a limited edition live LP of their recording, titled Audiotree Live 3.1.2014 via Broken World Media.  The record is limited to 1000 copies and is now available for pre-order.  It includes two new tracks, “Shopper’s Beef” and “Space Exploration to Solve Earthly Crises”.  The entire session can be watched on Audiotree’s YouTube channel and is currently available for digital purchase.
