Exhorder played for a small audience in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Saturday June 21.

The ever-murky shadow-dark stage room at Big’s Bar hosted the classic thrash band for a Midwestern stop on their US tour.

Despite the awesome sound quality of the country/metal/sports bar and the precision clear playing of Exhorder, the loose gathering of teenage goths and older rednecks didn’t seem to mesh and although a few metal heads threw themselves into the moment, the crowd never once managed to mosh.

Exhorder played a great set of new and old tracks.

Calling up classics from Slaughter at the Vatican (1990) and also songs from their latest record, Defectum Omnium (2024).

Sioux Falls doesn’t get a lot of the national tours and while any metal fan should be excited to catch such a classic thrash band it seems the scene didn’t catch on for this one.

A true shame because the band was truly on point and played the show as though the crowd size didn’t matter. Good on them.
